Overview

HockeyScore is a field hockey match tracking app for Garmin watches. This policy explains what data the app collects and how it is used.

Data collected by the app

Match data

When you use HockeyScore to track a match, the following data is sent to our server:

• Match scores (goals per team)
• Match events (goals, cards, penalty corners, circle entries)
• Timer and period information
• Team names (as entered by the user who created the match)

Device identifier

A randomly generated device ID is sent with each request to manage session connections. This ID is not linked to your Garmin account or personal identity.

Access code

A 4-digit numeric code (e.g. "4721") is used to link your watch to a specific match. This code expires after 24 hours.

Data NOT collected

• No personal information: no name, email, phone number or Garmin account details
• No location data: GPS is not used
• No health or fitness data: heart rate, steps or activity data are not accessed
• No advertising or analytics: no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs

Data storage

Match data is stored on servers hosted by:

• Cloudflare (API processing) – based in the EU/US
• Supabase (database) – hosted in the EU (Frankfurt)

Match data is retained for the duration of the hockey season and may be deleted afterwards.

Data sharing

Match data that is shared via an access code is publicly viewable by anyone who has the code. This is by design, so that spectators can follow the match live. No login is required to view a shared match.

Match data is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any purpose other than displaying match scores.

Your rights

You can request deletion of your match data by contacting us at the email below.
